MOSCOW (AP) - Mikhail Kalashnikov, whose work as a weapons designer for the Soviet Union is immortalized in the name of the world's most popular firearm, died today at the age of 94.
Mikhail Kalashnikov, the inventor of the AK-47 in the Soviet Union, has died at age 94. Kalashnikov's 1947 model became one of the most widely recognized and used rifles in history. PICTURED
